| Here's some pictures of our house after the renovations are done and a lot of the packings done! We have snow! We got it on Monday and it keeps snowing!
Our House
Here's the Kitchen
The den
Here's Clarissa's and my room! We have the smallest bedroom in the house so it's quite crazy!
Michael's Room
Living Room
We call this room the old-fashioned sun room.
Twins Room
We had a late thanksgiving meal with my grandparents last night!
I think they were in wacky moods and eating apples late at night! lol. This is at the Tinlerfer. Stands for Martins, Waglers, and Kuefpers. We have sleepovers at each others houses and this time it was at ours.
Me and Lara at the Tinlerfer.
Clarissa and Jil at school
Clarissa and Dan at School
The Kuepfer ladies and girls went shopping when we had a day off school and then went out to eat.
This was something I wrote up about last week: Thursday Enos’ family came to our house for two days because Carolyn was speaking at our secret sister’s banquet and they brought Dan for school. So after school Thursday Enos asked me if I wanted to go to Toronto with a bunch of different youth groups from around here to sing, pass out tracks, and do street ministry. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go because we had school the next day, we wouldn’t get home till like 1:00 and I was tired, but Clarissa, Dan, Enos, and I went, and I was so glad I went. It was a really good experience for me and a lot of fun. A guy picked us up and Clarissa and I were seriously squashed in the backseat, but it was fun. Then we got to Waterloo and met a lot of other youth and all split up into vans. My one friend from school was there and so we had fun. I met a lot of other youth from a variety of churches and they all were really nice. We got to Toronto and met in a big circle in the parking lot and prayed and talked. Then we all trouped down to the subway and rode like a half hour. One guy was passing out tracks on the subway. We went to this huge mall and outside was a huge square with a dancer and music and lots of people. We went around the corner and set up our track table and started to sing. A lot of people would leave singing and pass out tracks and start talking to people. Mervin Cheecho, the Dad of Jonathan Ceechcho, was even there and Enos talked to him. One guy talked to a husband and wife the whole time and the lady was a Jew. She was trying to prove him wrong that Christianity was wrong. A lady from my church was talking to another lady a lot of the time. One man would jump on the streetcars as they came and would hand out tracks to the driver. Another man met a Muslim man who had just become a Christian. His family had kicked him out, but now after a few years had all become Christians. Various other people were talked to. There was a dancer who would do tricks and Enos was going to give him a tract to do a dance, but he wouldn’t take it. On the subway home I talked with a really nice lady and her husband. They were really interested in us, and said bye when they left. I really enjoyed talking to them. Once back in the parking lot again in a circle we all told stories and prayed. One man was saying how it was just so cool that we are all from different churches but we can all be together. We drove home and got home at like 1:30. I was dead tired but it was worth it. I was thinking that I could have 5 hours of sleep and I was hoping of sleeping them all. Two and a half hours later my mom was yelling at Carlyon that something was wrong with dad. We all went running up stairs and Dad had chest pains, had shaken and then fainted, but was out of his faint when we went up. He looked really gray and he has heart problems in his family. We were all really worried and so we called the ambulance. They came in like 5 minutes and took Dad to the hospital. I went back to bed and tried to sleep but I couldn’t. Dan, Clarissa, and I woke up at 6:30 and packed our lunches for school. Clarissa and Dan had tech and plus we had hockey to play, and we were all dead tired. My mom came to school and said Dad’s ok. The doctors are not sure what it was but now we think it's the flu or an inner ear infection. So that was our crazy day and after the secret sister thing on Friday night I was dead tired. Anyhow, I've gotta run! Daniel, and the rest are playing fox and geese! Kayla

| Hi everybody! We're going on a month long trip next wednesday and so I thought I'd quick post! I'm at the library and so I don't have any pictures to post. It seems like so long since we've been down here, but it's been like less than a month. I've really enjoyed starting my new school, living beside Enos', getting to know my youth group and church better, moving in, and just having fun. We've been like so crazy busy! We started this renovation in our room, and so I'm still kind of living out of my FOCIS bags. lol. It's quite crazy! We're going on a PR trip out west with Esta and I can't wait!! I can't wait to see you all up north! Oh, yeah I forgot to say that last night after volleyball we came outside and Ian's window was broken and his wallet was stolen! Some of the youth left, but we felt like staying and seeing what the police would do. so it was quite a crazy night! Well anyhow, that's what's been happening in my life lately! I'll try to post pictures someday, but our computer is dial-up and we can't even get the real facebook to work on it! Anyhow, I've gotta go! Kayla | | |
| Hello everybody! We moved now to southern ON. We have so many boxes that it's not even funny. We couldn't unpack that much stuff because my uncle Enos had to do a renovation first. Enos's were here yesterday puting rugs in, and cutting out a door to go into a bathroom. So today we have a lot more boxes to unpack. This week at our church we also have pre-ordination servies wed, thur, and friday night so we are quite crazy busy. Anyhow, i thought i'd post a couple pictures of FOCIS. FOCIS was so much fun this year. We all just had so much fun together. Volleyball of course was tons of fun. Campfires were also a real highlight for me--sharing and singing around the campfire. The choir was a lot of fun and Dan Schrock was the choir director. I think a softball might have been hitting us! lol
This was my group in CI. We were doing manners around the table.
Here we are, the CI teachers
Teresa and me
Here we are serving instead of the cooks!
ANyhow, i have to go unpack boxes! I have a lot of pictures of FOCIS, so i might add more later! Kayla
| Last week Clarissa and me went up to Round Lake to help out with girls camp!! We were at youth camp and then left early to go. Norm flew down and picked us up in Ft. Francis and then Denis flew us from Dryden to Round Lake. Some of us got sick and some of us got scared (namely myself), but it was still kind of fun flying! This is what i wrote about how the nights turned out: The first night was freezing, the second night was good, and the last night was a nightmare. It started to rain and the girl’s had heard that there was a huge storm coming. They were scared even before we went into the tents. When we got inside the tents, it was pouring. One girl’s nose started to bleed and it seriously bled for like half an hour or something like that. She was crying so hard because she was so scared and she could hardly get her breath. Karla was with her trying to make her nose stop bleeding. Then rain started to come in and was getting the girls mattresses all wet and was coming through the mattresses. So I was with them trying to figure out what to do. In all this commotion this five year old girl who was too young to come, but was there because her Grandma was in charge, was running all over the tent. First she wanted someone to read a bible story to her and then she wanted a pen to write with. Then she had to go bathroom and she said she could just go in the tent. I was like oh no! So I told her I’d put a towel over her so she wouldn’t get wet and she could go outside the tent. Then as all this was happening, another girl started to cry her head off. I had found out that day that she was an orphan because her dad had been stabbed and her mom had died just in the past year. So she was crying and talking about how she was crying for her Mom right before she died and I had no clue what to say to her. Another girl started to cry for her grandma who had died. By now, practically the whole tent was crying whether from a nose bleed, from being scared, or from crying with this girl who was an orphan. And so I just about started crying. I was trying to comfort this girl and all the other girls were gathered around her and trying to help her. Another girl wanted a flashlight to read her bible because she was scared and crying. And of all things Karla had lost her flashlight in the commotion and so we were in this dark tent, with rain pouring down, everybody crying, scared out our wits, and without a light. Then, just as all this was happing, the leader of the girl’s camp came to our tent and is like “Karla I need to talk to you.” I was like, oh no, now what happened. So it turned out that the leader’s tent was leaking and so they had to divide up between the remaining two tents. So we were literally squished side by side in this tent and wet. We finally got everybody quieted down. Then Sherry and Karla were trying to keep the tent flaps down and so were putting rocks on it. They then went outside, and just like that the girl’s heads pop up. So they were still awake! They had to go to the bathroom in the pouring rain, but I convinced them out of it. Finally, we all fell asleep, damp and squished. Then I wake up with a jerk, and I heard the girl beside me crying for her grandma. So I get up, calm her down and fall asleep again. The next thing I know, its morning and sunny! So yeah, it was a crazy, interesting night! lol The water was freezing!!
This was the tent that leaked!
The girls painted our faces, and we looked quite dorky! lol
Everybody had to wash their dishes after every meal
Crafts
Sunday school on the reserve
We were supposed to fly out on Saturday morning, but then didn't until sun. night because of bad weather. Also because the piolots were behind because of bad weather and so were flying like a 100 people on saturday. We stayed on the reserve with the two girls we had taught girls camp with and the two guys who were still there from teaching boys camp. We played with the kids who came to the house who we had gotten to know, and also helped out with sunday school on Sunday. So yeah, Round Lake was a lot of fun! Here's a couple pictures of Youth Camp
This week we were helping side Galords house. Here's a couple pictures of that! Watching them side
The whole group!! So now i'm finally home after being gone for almost two weeks!! We're really busy packing now because we're moving in like 5 weeks. So you could pray for us! That's all for now! Kayla
